<\/a><\/p>\n Hello. My name is Daniel Johnson, aka Daniel Primed, and this is my self-titled game analysis blog. I started this blog in 2007, writing topical editorial pieces, but quickly transitioned into more long-form, game-specific writing.\u00a0Inspired by my great friend and mentor Richard Terrell and his extensive work on developing a video game vocabulary<\/a>, I decided to write\u00a0Game Design Companion: A Critical Analysis of Wario Land 4<\/a> <\/em>Following Game Design Companion<\/em>‘s release in 2014, I designed The Cave of \u0100tman<\/a><\/em>, a short puzzle game inspired by Japanese SRPGs. In 2015, I\u00a0wrote ‘Cracking the Resident Evil Puzzle Box<\/a>‘, a chapter in\u00a0Level Design: Processes and Experiences<\/em> by Christopher Totten. My second and third books, Speed Boost: The Hidden Secrets Behind Arcade Racing Game Design<\/em><\/a> and Adventures in Games Analysis: Volume I<\/em><\/a> were released in 2021 and 2023 after a number of delays.
