Thanks, I feel rather torn though. While MGS4 is worthy of all the praise that is in my impressions, I feel that equally the criticsms layed against it are and always have been true. This doesn't make MGS4 any less of a game, for me, but suggestions that Kojima needs an editor becomes even more apparent after playing MGS4. Infact I think that he needs to go! With MGS2 and MGS4 Kojima's aspirations became too large and bloated much like the origin of the Patriots actually.

This is what has crippled the series, I think. So for MGS5, Kojima has to go and they need to also make it easier to be stealthy by lessening the unrealistic alert times. These things woud make MGS5 a great game.

Great impressions! Very detailed review.

I agree with practically all your points. Gameplay-wise, the game was the best in the series. The production values were through the roof! The story and cut-scenes were the big weaknesses and both could have used some trimming and time in the editing room.

Still, a great way to end this series.
